A pair of home runs from Cubs No. 1 prospect Ian Happ backed a strong effort by Dylan Covey on the mound as the Mesa Solar Sox won the Arizona Fall League title Saturday with a 6-1 win over the Surprise Saguaros at Scottsdale Stadium.

In what seemed like the most heartbreaking yet of nightmarish Cubs postseason game gone wrong, Ben Zobrist’s 10th-inning double off Bryan Shaw broke a 6-6 tie, and the Cubs outlasted the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in a title-winning, drought-breaking, impossible-to-believe Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday.

The Cubs exploded out of the gate in Game 6 behind a grand slam and record-tying six RBIs from Addison Russell to beat the Indians 9-3 and force a seventh and deciding game in the World Series.

Kris Bryant started the onslaught with a solo homer, and the Cubs' bats backed 5⅔ solid innings from Jake Arrieta and a sterling performance from the bullpen.
